Early Life

Melissa Young, better known by her stage name Kid Sister, was born on January 1, 1980, in Markham, Illinois. She faced a challenging childhood, with her family struggling financially throughout the 1980s and '90s.

Career Beginnings

Despite the hardships, Kid Sister pursued her dreams and attended Columbia College Chicago, graduating with a degree in film. She appeared in two films, "The Boys" (2002) and "Best Thief In the World" (2003). Additionally, she worked at Bath & Body Works.

In 2005, Kid Sister's music career took off when she began performing at monthly dance parties hosted by the DJ duo Flosstradamus. Her brother, Josh "J2K" Young, was a member of the group. Her early songs were lighthearted Kid sister youtube.
